Every lender uses their own criteria and methodology for assessing the creditworthiness of applicants. Even if you are sending your rental information to a credit reference agency, it’s up to each individual lender to decide if and how they factor that data into their decision making processes.
Since rent recognition is still a new concept in the UK, most lenders are still figuring out how to incorporate the information into their assessment criteria. Alongside HM Treasury, Bud is actively working with the majority of these lenders to help them do this effectively. Over time, the goal is to make rental payment data an important part of all credit assessments.
